Resident Project - Mt Barker House

Set in Central Otago, New Zealand, Mt Barker House is a carefully considered response to both landscape and lifestyle, balancing modern architectural clarity with a deep sensitivity to place.

Designed by Nuku Studio, the house is two connected pavilions - separates private and social spaces with a strong indoor–outdoor flow, opening northward to expansive rural views through large glazed sliders.

The form and materiality—timber cladding, exposed brass detailing, and corrugated metal—draw from both mid-century influences and the rugged local environment, allowing the house to sit naturally within its setting.
