In the wake of the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, a two-level, 1910 home was destroyed and subsequently demolished. A new home was required within the footprint of the original.

Resident will be returning to INTRO / NY as part of New York Design Week. 

Resident will return to New York Design Week for the fifth consecutive year, to present an exhibition entitled “Dark Matter”. The show will take place at the Jacob K Javits Centre, Booth 2032, from May 21st - 24th.

Resident recently completed the launch of its seventh collection of furniture and lighting at Milan Euroluce, entitled “Dark Matter”.

The exhibition entitled “Dark Matter” will feature some bold and significant lighting innovations, designed to add value to the places where people live, work and play. 

Perched on a small section below the mighty mountain itself, the house affords a beautiful sense of light and volume on a tight urban site.
