Resident Project - Feng Full
Feng Full marks the evolution of heritage pastry brand Lao Ding Feng into a contemporary all-day dining destination, with interiors by Office AIO translating the warmth, generosity, and humour of Northeastern Chinese culture into a refined spatial language.
Located within a challenging L-shaped site in a sunken outdoor mall plaza, the restaurant is organised around a sequence of open counters that guide the experience from pastry display to open kitchen and cocktail bar, allowing the atmosphere to transition naturally from relaxed daytime dining to an energetic evening setting.
Rather than leaning into nostalgia, the design balances familiarity with a distinctly contemporary sensibility, creating a space that feels domestic yet highly considered.
Materiality and lighting play a central role in shaping this balance. Coffered ceilings, parquet flooring, clay-tiled surfaces, and warm timber tones establish a calm and welcoming backdrop, contrasted by sculptural contemporary elements including a fluted cast concrete façade, metallic bar finishes, and vivid green acrylic details.
Carefully selected furniture and lighting continue this dialogue, with a linear version of Residents Cast Lamp by Philippe Malouin illuminating the pastry counter, creating a warm threshold that connects the brand’s heritage with its contemporary dining vision.
