Resident Project - Tate Modern Corner Cafe

Resident was proud to supply furniture into the newly overhauled ground floor “Corner Café” at the Tate Modern Art Gallery in London.
 
The Tate Modern houses the United Kingdom's national collection of international and modern contemporary art, and is located in the former Bankside Power Station, in the London Borough of Southwark.

Designed by Holland Harvey, the Corner Café was adapted to have softer fixtures, fittings and surfaces, and notably includes a new riverside entrance, allowing visitors to enter the café without having to navigate through the museum first.

At the opposite end of the open plan café, a door leads directly into the Tates famous Turbine Hall (pictured above).
The Turbine Hall runs the length of the building and is one the most successful public spaces in London, where people often sit down on the floor and reflect on the vastness of the space.

There are a number of seating areas throughout the Café, resembling the diverse way in which the space is used to rest, eat, work and play.
